Creality Sermoon P1 All-in-One 3D Scanner

The Creality Sermoon P1 combines blue laser and NIR structured-light scanning in an all-in-one handheld device. Capture, preview and process 3D models on the integrated touchscreen, or connect to a Windows or Mac computer. Suitable for reverse engineering, product design, automotive projects and 3D printing.

Features & Benefits

  • Standalone Scanning and Processing: Scan, fuse point clouds, align captures, generate meshes and apply colour mapping directly on the device—without a laptop.
  • 22 + 7 + 1 Blue Laser Lines: 22 cross lines for efficient surface capture, 7 parallel lines for fine details, and a single line for accessible holes, grooves and recesses.
  • Detailed Blue Laser Capture: Specified accuracy up to 0.02 mm and volumetric accuracy of 0.02 mm + 0.06 mm/m for dimension-focused workflows.
  • Marker-Free NIR Scanning: Close-range and long-range infrared modes support geometry and texture tracking for feature-rich objects, sculptures, faces and bodies.
  • Three Operating Modes: Standalone scanning, wireless PC scanning and USB-connected PC scanning. Blue laser capture reaches up to 60 fps standalone and 100 fps in wired PC mode.
  • Onboard Computing: Qualcomm 8-core 3.36 GHz CPU, Adreno 740 GPU, 24 GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB UFS 4.0 storage.
  • Wide Capture Coverage: Blue laser field of view up to 380 × 365 mm at 550 mm; NIR up to 1450 × 1020 mm at 1200 mm, as listed in the manual.
  • Colour Capture and Material Versatility: RGB colour capture with supplementary lighting. Many dark and metallic surfaces can be scanned without spray; difficult reflective or transparent surfaces may need preparation.
  • Portable Power and Connectivity: 6-inch HD touchscreen, Wi-Fi 7, USB 3.0 Type-C and two 3300 mAh batteries, including one spare. PD 3.0 fast charging and separate Type-C battery charging are supported.

Applications

  • Reverse engineering: Capture mechanical parts as reference geometry for CAD reconstruction.
  • 3D printing: Scan objects, generate a mesh and export STL files for slicing after checking and repairing the model where needed.
  • Art and heritage: Digitise sculptures and feature-rich objects with marker-free NIR tracking where suitable.
  • Quality inspection: Capture geometry for comparison in compatible inspection software; validate the workflow against your required tolerances.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the P1 require a computer, and does it support Mac?

No computer is needed for standalone scanning and processing. CrealityScan supports Windows and macOS for desktop workflows; check the recommended configuration above.

Can it scan black or shiny objects?

Many dark and metallic surfaces can be captured directly with blue laser. Highly reflective, transparent or strongly light-absorbing surfaces may still need preparation.

Are markers required?

Use markers for the blue laser workflow described in the manual. NIR geometry or texture tracking can work without markers on sufficiently distinctive objects.

Can I use it outdoors?

Yes, within the mode-specific light limits above. Shade and even lighting improve reliability; the published limits do not guarantee capture in direct sunlight.

Can I export models for 3D printing or colour workflows?

Yes. Export STL for slicing or OBJ for suitable textured-model workflows. Check scale and mesh completeness before printing; refined textures may need additional editing.

Can I replace the battery?

Yes. A spare battery is included, and batteries support separate Type-C charging. Save your project and follow the device’s battery-change instructions.

How should I interpret accuracy and part tolerances?

The 0.02 mm figure is specified blue laser accuracy under laboratory conditions. Volumetric accuracy also accounts for object size. Neither guarantees a finished-part tolerance; validate scanning, CAD reconstruction and manufacturing together.

What is the maximum object size?

Creality advertises blue laser coverage from 5 × 5 × 5 mm to 4000 × 4000 × 4000 mm across multiple views. This is an object-size range, not a single-frame volume; suitable tracking and access remain necessary.

How does P1 differ from an infrared-only standalone scanner?

P1 combines blue laser patterns for mechanical details and recesses with NIR structured light for suitable organic shapes. Infrared-only scanners use structured-light capture without these laser modes. Compare sample results, not just headline accuracy.

Is software included, and are there extra fees?

Onboard scanning and processing software is included; CrealityScan is available from Creality’s download page. Optional third-party CAD, inspection software or online services may have separate fees. Check current licensing for any additional tools.

Why choose P1 rather than P1S?

P1 offers 24 GB onboard RAM and specified blue laser volumetric accuracy of 0.02 mm + 0.06 mm/m. P1S has 16 GB RAM and 0.02 mm + 0.08 mm/m, alongside its own coverage and portability advantages.

Can I enquire about bulk or education purchases?

Yes. Contact the store with the quantity, delivery country and intended use to request a quotation. Volume pricing, education offers and invoice requirements are confirmed individually; discounts are not automatic.
